Audi is committed to its electric car future. And the latest Super Bowl commercial proves it.
The Super Bowl is one of the most-watched tv events of the year in the US. So it’s a perfect opportunity for car makers and other companies to get more people watching their latest commercials.
At this year’s event, Audi has released an advertisement called “Cashew”, and it shows Audi’s future plans in the next 5 years.
The commercial begins with a man meeting his grandfather, who leads him to a warehouse where he keeps his cars. He pulled a tarp off one of the cars and revealed it was an Audi E-Tron Gt, an electric concept car that was unveiled at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The e-tron GT is the star of the ad, although it won’t go into commercial production until 2020. After that, our protagonist gets into the splendid concept car a few seconds before awakened by a colleague.
As it turned out, everything that happened before was just an illusion caused by his choking on a cashew nut.
Finally, Audi posted a few words on the screen saying “A vibrant future awaits. On the earth.
Although this announcement is not new, Audi has given us a little interesting information at the end of the ad. Specifically, the final shot shows the image of three cars, with two of them covered.
The car in the middle is obviously an e-tron SUV that will dock at dealerships this year. The car on the left looks like a smaller SUV, possibly the small e-tron we will see in concept form at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
Through the Super Bowl commercial, we can say that while most other manufacturers want to flaunt their latest products, Audi wants us to look forward to upcoming e-tron models.
